The grand coronation night of Miss Earth 2107 was a spectacular show of great staging with mesmerizing beauties parading not only their physical beauties, but their confidence and wit as well.
Miss Philippines Karen Ibasco is the epitome of beauty and brains, equipped with confidence and determination to excel among the other 85 delegates of Miss Earth 2017 held on November 4, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena (MOA) in Pasay City.
In the center of the roaring crowd of a full-packed MOA, the top eight finalists were fighting it off from the question and answer portion, hosted by motoring celebrity James Deakin. Among the top eight, only four were chosen to advance to the final round; Miss Columbia Juliana Franco, Miss Australia Nina Robertson, Miss Russia Lada Akimova, and Miss Philippines Karen Ibasco.

The question for the final four were the same. Whilst the other finalists donned on headsets with music in order not to hear the most important question that will make or break them, Deakin did a good job in making the finalists at ease by asking each contestant to say a few words on what they think of the Philippines. It was Miss Australia Nina Robertson who floored the spectators when she said that she's half-Filipino.

Now for the official question: "Who, or what do you think is the the enemy of mother earth, and why?"
Miss Philippines: "I believe that the real problem in this world is not climate change. The real problem is us because of our ignorance and apathy," Ibasco said, making the arena thunder with cheers from the crowd. "What we have to do is start changing our ways, to start re-calibrating our minds, and redirecting our steps, because together, as a global community, our micro-efforts will have a macro-effect to help save our home, our planet," added Ibasco, who carries with her a Master's Degree in Medical Physics, graduated Cum Laude, from the University of Santo Tomas.

The other finalists came up with great answers as well, but their delivery lacked conviction, in contrast to Ibasco, who answered like a true defender of Mother Earth.
