Dance is an art requiring physical and mental strength, that goes beyond what we see on stage.
As a dancer, I am truly honored to have met such a brilliant choreographer in PJ Rebullida, whose work elevated what it really means to mix dance and theater to the utmost art form it deserves.
Not to miss this weekend. Galaw.Co Dance Theater's REALLY ALIVE will have 2 shows Saturday, July 20 at 3 PM and 8 PM at Maybank Theater, BGC.
Tickets are not for sale. A donation in any amount will go a long way for this generation of hard-working dance and theater artists. Let us immerse, and be awed in the journey.
REALLY ALIVE features three works.
The Story of Us
It is an improvisation piece merging theater and movement principles in Dance. It takes inspiration from everyday things in search of a beginning, conflict and resolution. This will feature Jef Flires, Julio Laforteza, and JP Ortanero.
When Things Become Real
More often than not, when a dance is about to be created, a concept already exists. But what happens when you reverse that process and start with nothing? Surprisingly, we found out that stories still do unravel from nothing, and similar to life, waiting to see what comes next is both terrifying and exciting. Choreography by PJ Rebullida featuring Joni Galeste and Jourdan Bartolome.
Alive
This piece is an accumulation of experiences by PJ Rebullida. A journey that requires investment from the audience, Alive merges dance, song, poetry and theater.
